Position Assignment: In regards to my position, I’m currently working on class t-shirt sales. The sales have been pretty rocky for the junior class. This is due to ordering from a different company. Being able to order the shirts was a struggle due to the company needing an advisor to approve the purchase. The other problem was how long the shirts were taking and the extra money for ordering another shipment of shirts. What we learned from this experience was to stick to the t-shirt company everyone else is using so we know it’s reliable. Besides from this event, the juniors have been working on ordering decorations for rallies and also coming up with homecoming ideas. We ordered green streamers, a green tapestry, green paper picados and balloons. Hopefully our decorations stick out since ours are more culturally aware. Along with homecoming, we have drawn an outline for the design of our float and have come up with different decorations we can put around the school. Thus, the only thing we have to do is order the decorations and decorate!
Standing Committees: My committees are pride tribe and link crew. With pride tribe, there isn't much to do besides dressing up for the spirit days. I heard many students were buying the new pride tribe shirts. In regards to link crew, I have been helping out at every event. Freshman orientation went well and many of the freshmen were well behaved. On the first day of school, many freshmen came up to me and I was really happy to help.
Special Committees: My special committee recently was the black light rally. Natalie did a very good job with conducting this rally. It improved so much from last year. I enjoyed being apart of it. When I was setting up the lights and helping put up the posters, I was happy to see how great the gym looked. The best part of this was the feedback from the students. Many enjoyed the rally and were pumped up which made me happy.
Concern: I’m mostly concerned with how dressed up the junior class will get for homecoming. From my experience, over the last two years, my class doesn’t like to get spirited. This has affected our outcome with coming in first for homecoming. All our class lacks is spirit. It’s not that hard to wear the color that corresponds with that dress up day!
Positive Comment: I have a positive comment to say to Kassidy and Kate. They both did an amazing job for the BBQ. Everything was organized and well put together. The setting up and cleaning up was also very efficient. It takes a lot of energy and work to feed the entire school so credit to both of them!
Change: The change I would love to see is students being more open-minded to certain subjects along the line with race and sexuality. During club rush, I experienced many underclassmen boys mocking the GSA table and it disgusted me. They were signing up their friends and saying mean comments. I wish they would grow up and become educated, just wait till they get outside of their small bubble. :)
Impact: This year, I hope I can be a friendly face and a helpful hand to the freshman class. I understand the stigma at our school about being a freshman and how hard the adjustment is. I hope to go out of my way and be a positive role model to them all.

Position Assignment: In regards to my position, I’m currently working on the class t-shirt procedure form. The final order of shirts have been received and passed out. The process took longer than expected since we had to re-order sizes that we missed on the first order. Also homecoming went well and we came in first place. All reimbursements have been finalized and the procedure form has already been turned in. This homecoming experience wasn’t the best since there was some fault in the juniors class work ethic. From reflecting on past years, the class of 2021 has had better days. By acknowledging your mistakes and learning from them is the only way to successfully be prepared for the future. Other than homecoing, the officers and I need to check for what decorations we have left over and what we need to order for future rallies. The next big event is “Dude Be Nice,” which is coming up shortly.
Standing Committees: My only committee at the moment is link crew. Besides the beginning of the year rush, link crew hasn't done anything. The next event that link crew runs is the study buddy nights which is closer to winter finals.
Special Committees: My special committees are Kyoto and the fall sports senior nights. Kyoto recently just ended and the time I was here, I experienced the great cultural exchange. I welcomed the students once they got to the school and was gladly able to make it to the potluck. I made my signature cheesy potatoes! For the fall sports committee, I was able to attend Water Polo and volleyball senior nights. They both went well and Ntalie has been doing an amazing job. I’m still waiting for cross country, and football/cheer.
Concern: The concern I have is directed towards the junior class. Since the officers and I had a bad falling out, I’m wondering if it’s going to affect our future events. I know we have acknowledged and grown from it but I’m just worried about a repeat. Hopefully everything will be better than homecoming.
Positive Comment: I have a positive comment for the sophomore class. They were the biggest competitors for homecoming and they did an amazing job. They went all out and they are all so hardworking. I’m proud of them!
Change: The change I would like to see is the communication between the junior class officers and I. We are all working on it but I want it to be a priority for all of us. Without this, many of our plans will not be executed.
Impact: This year, I hope I can be a friendly face and a helpful hand to the freshman class. I understand the stigma at our school about being a freshman and how hard the adjustment is. I hope to go out of my way and be a positive role model to them all.

Position Assignment: In regards to my position, I’m working on decorations for winterfest. It is the last week before finals and I have to turn in the purchase order before break. My team and I need to finalize everything by sketching out our ideas. We got our cart from dollar general, which is very reassuring. I have also started to work on the procedure form for winterfest, so it will be done in time. I feel confident for winterfest since the junior’s tree turned out well for the night rally. It was last minute but we definitely pulled it together. I’m excited for next semester and I’m ready for election season!
Standing Committees: My only standing committee is link crew. Today and tomorrow I have to attend and help out at study buddy night. I’m looking forward to attending because it’s a good time to hang out with friends while studying for finals.
Special Committees: My special committee, that I’m in charge of, is Valentine hearts. All the hearts are already printed out. I already made the instructions for the hearts and assigned the partners. Many of the partners have received their hearts and started to cut them out. Even though this takes place on valentines day, it is always good to be prepared.
Concern: My concern is directed towards finals. I feel that some of my teachers have not prepared me for their exams. I don’t feel prepared in two of my classes and this is due to lack of communication. I have no idea what is going to be on the exam and my worst fear is to fail my final.
Positive Comment: I have a positive comment to say about Troy. He always gets on my last nerve but I know he is a hard worker. Whenever renaissance sign ups are happening, he is always working to get the forms ready for the cards. He has also been working on study buddy night by getting all the snacks ready.
Change: The change I would like to see is the focus on the arts at Ripon High. Surprisingly, many people came out to the band and choir concert, but this was the biggest crowd we had yet. I wish students prioritise the arts just like they do with sports. It has always been a hassle to get out of doing this for art but when it comes to sports, its fine.
Impact: Last week I made an impact by decorating the teachers doors for christmas. Many of the teachers were thankful! A small deed can really brighten someone's day. I was happy that I could do that.

Position Assignment: The month of January consisted of winter fest, prepping for valentine hearts and organizing prom. Winter fest was really interesting this year. With the theme being based off of movies, this made the cart decorations a little challenging. The junior class had fun decorating and pulled it together last minute. Sadly, we didn’t win but we gave our best! Prepping for the valentine hearts was simple. I assigned student names to partners in the class and they have been completed. Molly and I have completed the list of teachers names. They were ready to be put up on the 12th of February. Lastly, the junior class officers have been preparing for prom. We have decided the ticket prices are going up in price since we are opening up an extra room at the venue. We are nervous about how many students are going to attend. Luckily, the amount of money we are paying will go into the venue workers preparing the event for us.
Standing Committees: My only standing committee is Link crew. Link crew is over for this year but the applications for the next year have been presented. I applied for next year and got into the program. The process was fun because the group interview was very interesting.
Special Committees: My special committee, that I’m in charge of, is Valentine hearts. All the hearts are already printed out. I already made the instructions for the hearts and assigned the partners. The hearts are done and were to be put up on February 12th.
Concern: My concern is the results of the elections for the leadership class, next year. I’m worried that the students who are in the class right now, who don't get in next year, will create tension. I feel that people are going to let their feelings get in the way of their work.
Positive Comment: I have a positive comment to say about Molly. Molly was the first person to offer help for the staff valentine hearts. I really appreciated her helping me with these hearts because we have a lot of staff at rhs.

Impact: This week, I made an impact by putting up Valentine hearts for every student and teacher at ripon high. This is impactful because every student is recognized!
